Assemble the side of the fake fireplace. Tape the flaps closed, and there were two boxes. Line up all the edges and tape the boxes together. Repeat the process with the other two square boxes.
Turn the large corrugated pillow, so it stands 36 inches tall. Put this on the back of the taped square boxes. Line up the pillow, so that the edge of the middle of the strike box and tape it in place to form the back of the fake fireplace.
Put newspaper on the floor to protect it from dripping paint.
Mix brown, cream and red acrylic paint on a paper plate. Dip the sponge into the paint and put it on a cardboard box, which form part of the fake fireplace and back to give it a mottled appearance. Add more paint to cover full board if necessary.
Pour the white acrylic paint on a paper plate. Line of paint on cardboard boxes to create the mortar used for bricks. Use criteria to help keep the lines straight. Repeat the process on all cartons and inside back of the fake fireplace. Allow the paint to dry before continuing.
Tape the flaps of the two long boxes, closed, and tape the two boxes together closely. It will be a fake fireplace mantel.
Pour the white and black acrylic paint on a paper plate and mix it. Dip a rag into the paint and dab it on the long boxes to make it appear like marble or granite. Add more paint as needed, and allow the paint to dry.
